What crossplay confirms
Torn Banner announced crossplay as part of the console and 1.0 launch and described feature parity across PC and consoles. Players on the supported platforms can enter the shared matchmaking population rather than being limited to their own platform.
- PC includes the Steam and Epic Games Store versions named in the official launch material.
- Console support means PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; PS4 and Xbox One are not part of the confirmed launch scope.
- Native controller support is available on PC, but input-based matchmaking has not been promised in the sources checked here.
What crossplay does not confirm
Crossplay and cross-progression are different features. The official announcements checked for this guide confirm shared play, but do not clearly promise that Responder progress, purchases or unlocks move between a PC, PlayStation and Xbox account. Do not buy a second copy expecting progression transfer unless a current official account page explicitly confirms it.
Party setup checklist
- Install the latest game update on every platform before creating the party.
- Enable cross-network play in the console privacy settings if it was previously restricted.
- Create or re-form the party after all players reach the current main menu.
- If direct invites fail, test whether each player can enter public matchmaking; that separates a party issue from a broader service issue.
- Record the platform, build number and exact error before contacting official support.
If your group still cannot connect
Restarting the game after a patch is safer than deleting local files or account data. Platform privacy, parental controls, service maintenance and mismatched builds can all block a cross-platform party even when crossplay itself is live. Use the developer's current support route for account-specific failures.
